The 'Sunburn Mumbai 2012’ Pre Parties set Mumbai and Pune afire
The twin cities of Mumbai and Pune grooved to the beats of Electronic Dance Music as a series of Sunburn Pre Parties rocked these cities in the build up towards Percept’s ‘Sunburn Mumbai 2012’ Festival scheduled from 6-8 April, 2012. The very first party to set the pace was held at Royalty, Bandra in Mumbai on 22 March which was attended by a host of EDM enthusiasts, VJs, DJs and celebrities. DJ’s Shaan, Arjun and Pearl brought the house down with some electrifying music while the iconic LASER MAN along with some stunning beauties added glitz and zing to the night.
The second Sunburn Pre Party was held at the newly launched Co Bar at Cocoparra on 25 March. The crowd in Pune, experiencing Sunburn fever for the first time, was awestruck by the pulsating music spun by DJ Pearl, Helium Project and Deep.
The last of the Sunburn Pre Parties was held on 31 March at Miami, Pune. Celebrities and youngsters grooved to the beats of Karan Thirdeye, even as the infamous Psy Boyz weaved their electronic magic with the crowd.
All in all, a fantastic and electrifying build up to the very first edition of the ‘Sunburn Mumbai 2012’ Festival in the entertainment capital of Mumbai!
Percept Art hosts internationally acclaimed artist Avani Shah
Percept Art along with Art curator Soketu Parikh hosted the internationally acclaimed artist Avani Shah at the P2 Art Gallery on Saturday, 31 March 2012.
Entitled ‘Path to Purpose’ from the Buddha Series, the eclectic collection of paintings, sculptures and installations, including some pieces of art outsourced from monasteries, wowed the audience. This collection expressed the artist’s elucidation of the peace and divinity of the Buddhist teachings. Having spent some time in Buddhist monasteries, Avani’s work was centred around the mantra ‘Om Mane Padme Om’.
The elegant Wine n Cheese evening witnessed an eclectic turnout of socialites, artists, industrialists, celebrities, media and art aficionados as they admired Avani’s solo exhibition.

First leg of Go For Gold kicks off in North India
12 budding athletes carrying the Monnet Go for Gold torch began a historic crusade in March 2012 to drive the momentum for Olympics 2012. The marathon run spanning 6000 kms and covering over 50 cities in the next 3 months will aim to bring India under one platform to cheer for the nation’s glory for the upcoming global sporting event.
Delhites gathered at the Jawaharlal Nehru stadium for the ‘GFG Fun Run’ to welcome the Monnet Go for Gold torch and display their united spirit to cheer the Indian Olympic contingent. Eminent personalities from the field of politics, sports and entertainment graced the occasion including Hon. Sh. Dinesh Trivedi, Cabinet Minister, Hon. Sh. Shahnawaz Husain, Member of Parliament (BJP), Bhagalpur Bihar, Mr. Shashi Tharoor, Sh. Naveen Jindal, Member of Parliament (Congress), Kurukshetra and Chairman & MD JSPL, Mr. Rana Gurmeet Singh Sodhi, MLA, Former international shooter and President Chandigarh Olympic Association, Mr. Milkha Singh, legendry Indian athlete, Mr. Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, first Indian Silver medal winner for Men's double Trap at 2004 Olympics, Mr. Zafar Iqbal former Indian Hockey team captain, Olympian Gold Medalist and member of the Arjuna Awardees Association, Sh. M.K. Jajodia, Group Chairman , Monnet Group, Mr. Sandeep Jajodia, Executive Vice-Chairman & Managing Director, Monnet Ispat & Energy Limited.
Amongst the sports personalities were Indian pugilists Manoj Kumar (already qualified for the upcoming London Olympics), Devendro (already qualified for the upcoming London Olympics), Akhil Kumar and Mr. G.S. Sandhu coach of the Indian Boxing Team along with archers Chekrovolu Swuro, Bombayala Devi along with the Coach Mr. Limba Ram. The first leg of the Monnet Go for Gold torch relay kicked off in Jammu on 1 March. Present at the venue was the Honorable Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir, Mr. Omar Abdullah. The torch was carried from Jammu via Kurukshetra and Panipat in Haryana to reach to Chandigarh on 7 March. The Go for Gold contingent was received amidst a lot of fanfare in the city by Mr. Sandeep Jajodia, Executive Vice Chairman and Managing Director, Monnet Ispat & Energy Limited, Mr. Rana Sodhi, President, Chandigarh Olympic Association, Mr. Ravinder Talwar, Secretary General, Chandigarh Olympic Association, Ms. Ruby Dhall, Canadian Politician, Indian Boxer Suranjoy Singh and Chief Coach of Indian boxing team Mr. G.S. Sandhu.
The Go for Gold campaign initiative is a small step towards encouraging not only the Indian Olympic 2012 contingent but also aims to motivate the youth of the country to take up sports as a professional career.
Joji George enlightens bright young minds of HEC Business School, Paris
Joji George, CEO, Percept Sports and Entertainment, addressed students from HEC Business School, Paris during their recent visit to India. The power packed session took place on March 13, 2012 at the Corporate Office of Percept Limited in Mumbai. Joji shared a glimpse of the Entertainment, Media & Communications industry and gave an overview of the various businesses, services and IPs of the Percept Group.
