Saturday night fever rocked as Celebrities and Guests from the Corporate & Glamour World arrived at the ITC Maratha on the evening of 21 July 2012 to partake of the Percept Awards & Gala Celebrations. This year’s party was extra special as 2012 also heralded Shailendra Singh’s Silver Anniversary Journey at Percept. The Percept Celebrations offered a platform to commemorate the journey, acknowledge the people who have made that journey memorable and a success, and offered a snapshot to the exciting road ahead!
Celebrities who walked the red carpet and graced the occasion included Nana Patekar, Arjun Rampal and Mehr Jessia, Salim – Sulaiman, Nagesh Kukunoor, Neha Dhupia, Iain Banner, Rajan Mittal, Mandira Bedi, Atul Wassan, Shama Sikander, Kabir Bedi, Nisha Jamwal, Suresh Menon, Shreyas Talpade, Nikhil Chinapa & Pearl, Dr. Naresh Trehan, Vikram Malhotra, Alyque Padamsee, Marc and Walusha Robinson, Arti and Kailash Surendranath, Ranjith and Vikram Sathaye.
The applause was deafening as Vikram Sathaye, Suresh Menon, Mandira Bedia and the Percept team performed live
on stage, and seamlessly wove talent and comedy together to present an eclectic entertainment spoof on various actors, Bollywood films and situations at Percept. A special felicitation was also held on stage for Mr. I D Khera for his dedication and long term service to Percept. The entertainment evening deservedly wound up with a surprise and impromptu jig by Harindra Singh & Shailendra Singh as they danced with the Percept performers on stage against the deafening beat of the dhol!
Later, it was time to move and groove to the beat of DJ AJ, Hiren, Shaan and other renowned DJs as they spun their magic. While there was a flood of people grooving on the dance floor, there was also an abundance of crowd at the dinner section serving the best of Indian and international cuisine.
The highlight of the evening was a special cake cutting ceremony which commemorated Shailendra Singh’s amazing 25 year journey at Percept. A specially designed two tier cake capturing nostalgic moments of his silver anniversary was wheeled in as Shailendra gave an emotional and witty speech to mark the occasion, even as family, friends and Perceptites cheered him and wished him another Rocking 25 Years at the helm of Percept!
Yes, eat, drink, network, form lasting friendships and be merry was the whole idea of the Gala Celebrations, and the super successful after-party proved this point as it rocked till the wee hours of dawn the day after.
