Filmmaker Priyadarshan receives award for Percept Pictures 'Kanchivaram' at the Seventh Asian Film Festival 2011
Percept Pictures ‘Kanchivaram’ received the coveted Zenith Asia award 2011 at the Seventh edition of the Asian Film Festival on 25 December, 2011 at National Film Archive of India, Pune. This prestigious Award was presented to maverick film maker Priyadarshan by veteran Marathi actor Vikram Gokhale. The National Award winning movie ‘Kanchivaram’ was produced by Percept Pictures in 2008.Set in pre-Independence era, Kanchivaram is an unusual tale of silk weavers and revolves around one such talented weaver. The much appreciated movie was later shown at the festival after the award ceremony. The movie, which was screened at various film festivals around the globe, had also received the Best Feature Film award at the 55th National Film Awards. Percept Pictures executes an exclusive 3-day live coverage of Sunburn Goa 2011 for Youtube and PS&E
Percept Pictures carried out an exclusive 3-day live coverage of Sunburn Goa 2011, Asia’s Premier and World’s No. 9 Electronic Dance Music Festival for Youtube and Percept Sports & Entertainment. The coverage film went live on Youtube.com consecutively for 3 days - 27th, 28th and 29th of December, 2011 from 4:00 pm onwards till 10:00pm.The festival went live on ground A on the 1st and 2nd day and on ground B on the 3rd day which ended by covering the electrifying performance of the worlds top ‘DJ Axwell’. For the 2nd consecutive time, since its inception, Sunburn was shot extremely professionally and was streamed live worldwide for 3 days by Percept Pictures. The live streaming was hosted on the internet as well as on mobile phones on all three days of the musical extravaganza. The exclusive 3-day shoot was carried out with the help of a Jimmy Jib, 9 camera set up and a crew of over 60 people who worked round the clock and made this project a grand success.

Percept Pictures bags Nahar Group’s account
Nahar Group – a well known real estate brand roped in Percept Pictures to conceptualize and execute their first TVC. The film is 80% CG driven, where the hook of the film is to showcase an experience of building a state of the art house to live in. Percept Pictures executed a two day shoot which required the cast to be professional dancers. The film is directed by Raj Kaushal and the director of photography is Shriraz Bhattacharya. Pony Verma - a renowned choreographer was taken on board, as dancing was an integral part of the film. Reliance MediaWorks was hired as the CG/ VFX team. A Milo camera was also used to showcase smooth transitions in the film. A radio jingle was created for the client and the film will be aired across TV channels as well as in cinemas. An extensive still shoot was carried out on Location and all the prints were handed over to Percept /H - the agency on this project.

Percept Activ organizes the 150th Anniversary celebration for Calcutta Polo Club, Kolkata
Percept Activ recently planned and executed the on-ground activities for Calcutta Polo Club’s 150th Anniversary. The activities kick-started from December 18, 2011 and were carried till December 25, 2011 at the Calcutta Polo Club, Kolkata. The tournament & the celebrations were graced by stalwarts from the Polo world like Mr. Eduardo Huergo - President, Federation of International Polo and Mr. Nick Denvers - Chairman, Hurlingham Polo Association (England). General V.K. Singh - Chief of Army Staff & President, Indian Polo Association was the chief guest at the event. To celebrate this significant event, the Calcutta Polo Club in association with Indian Polo Association extended an invitation to international teams across the world to compete for the ‘Ezra World Cup’ at the Pat Williamson Ground, Kolkata. Four international teams namely, USA, Italy, Brazil and Indonesia participated in the World Series besides two Indian teams one from IPA/Cavalry and the home team from Calcutta Polo Club. Bollywood actresses Ria & Raima Sen unveiled the Ezra Cup in a press conference held on November 24, 2011 at Taj Bengal. The Sen sisters also shared their childhood memories of their association with the Calcutta Polo Club with the attendees. Eminent people from Calcutta’s glitterati hosted the teams every evening. The teams also had a chance to have a dinner at the famous ‘Mallick Bari’ – a museum with priceless artifacts and old world charm grandeur. A Grand Polo Masquerade Polo Ball was conducted on the last day of the event on the Race Course lawns with International performers and a special performance by the 61st Cavalry from the Indian Army. |

Percept/H Delhi makes new appointments
Percept/H has made four new appointments for their Delhi Office. Rajiv Agrawal (pictured), who joined Percept/H in September last year as executive creative director, will be leading the newly appointed team. The team consists of Damodaran Krishnan, Gaurav De, Jayant 'Ronny' Bedi and Manish Sharma. Damodaran Krishnan has joined as creative director (copy). Krishnan has more than 12 years of experience in the industry and has worked with agencies like Rediffusion Y&R, Capital Advertising, Draftfcb Ulka, Triton Communications and Montage Advertising among others. Gaurav De has also joined as creative director (copy). He has previously worked with agencies like McCann Erickson, Rediffusion Y&R, Percept and Leo Burnett. Jayant ‘Ronny’ Bedi has rejoined Percept/H after a gap of a few months as associate creative director (copy). He has over 12 years of experience in advertising, with a flair for humour and films. Besides Percept, he has worked with IB&W Communications, Dmas Advertising and Response. Manish Sharma has joined as associate creative director (copy). He has close to 10 years of experience and had worked with Contract, Dentsu and Bates prior to joining Percept/H.

IBD India wins brand and creative duties for Red Mango
Red Mango, an all-natural, non-fat frozen yoghurt chain that has recently debuted in India, has appointed IBD India, a division of Percept Hakuhodo as its creative and communication partner. The win comes on the back of a multi-agency pitch that took place over the last few months in Delhi.
Confirming the news to exchange4media and citing the reason for choosing IBD, Rahul Kumar, MD & CEO, Red Mango India, said, “IBD has been chosen because of the integrated services that they provide and also because of their associations and work on esteemed brands in the past.” To start with, IBD will be focusing on launching Red Mango and making it a preferred brand in the frozen yoghurt segment in India, which is beginning to see some stiff competition emerge.

The three-day live coverage of ‘Sunburn Goa 2011 Festival’ on YouTube garnered over 1.6 million views across 100 countries. The exclusive coverage hosted on the internet and mobile phones was carried out with the help of a Jimmy Jib from 27-29 December 2011 at 4-10pm. Percept Pictures Chief Production Controller Priti Chawla said, “This was the 2nd consecutive year we went live and the experience was just something else altogether. The magnitude of Sunburn, in terms of its stages, DJ, people was twice that of last year and hence the task to capture it all was challenging and at the same time most exciting. We had multiple camera set ups and a crew of 80 people working to create magic that is Sunburn. Monnet Ispat & Energy Ltd today announced the prestigious relay torch run for the "Go for Gold" relay campaign. The torch run campaign which will commence from Kashmir will culminated in Kanyakumari on May 27th 2012. Last year, the 'Go for Gold' campaign was announced in Mumbai amidst much fan fare. The objective was to pledge the country’s support for athletes who will attempt to put India on the world map in the forthcoming Olympics. The torch was unveiled by Shree Ajay Maken, Honorable Sports Minister of India, Mr. Sandeep Jajodia, Executive Vice Chairman & Managing Director, Monnet Ispat & Energy Ltd, Mr Shailendra Singh, Joint Managing Director, Percept Ltd, Mr. Kapil Dev former Indian cricket team captain & Brig. The torch relay run will be flagged off on 10th February 2012 from Jammu & Srinagar and will travel 50 cities including Patiala/Chandigarh, Jaipur, Delhi NCR, Lucknow, Kolkata, Shillong, Indore, Ahmedabad, Pune, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kochi, Chennai, and Kanyakumari under the auspices of the Athletics Federation of India (AFI). The run will be joined by local and prominent athletes in its impressive journey. The torch will return back to New Delhi on 30th May.
People from every local centre that the torch travels will be appealed through various multimedia campaigns to join the relay. Go for Gold merchandise will be distributed along the journey. The element of participation is the main purpose of this esteemed relay. Prominent celebrities will also join the relay at specific strategic points in this journey of the torch from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. Monnet Ispat & Energy through this initiative will highlight the incredible potential Olympic sports holds for an emerging economic powerhouse like India.
