BIG Live partners with Marico to educate 80,000 women

To help women with their skills and provide better future for their families, BIG LIVE, the intellectual property division of Reliance Broadcast Network is all geared up and looking forward for an unique outreach program called Nihar Sundar Saksham Parivaar for Nihar Naturals, one of the brands in Eastern India across 7 districts of Bihar. As women play a multi-faceted role in the evolution of society at large, the Nihar Sundar Saksham Parivaar program aims to engage in a dialogue with women on various elements that will enhance the lives of their families. Supported by opinion leaders like Sarpanches, anganwadi workers, school principals, ASHA Didis and Sevikas, the outreach programme also felicitates progressive women in the villages with Niharika Award, which will recognize the contribution of these women of substance in the progress of society as a whole. These sessions will take place in safe and comfortable environments like Panchayat Bhavans and School Compounds, which shall cover around 600 villages across the state.
9X Media forays in the digital space with gaming apps

9X Media has introduced 9X Play, a series of gaming apps for its fans, on the digital platform.The wide range of games includes 9XM animated characters such as Bade & Chote, Silly Chicken, Bheegi Billi and Badshah Bhai. Users can download and play these games on their iPhones, iPads and Android devices.Vibha Gosher, VP-Digital, 9X Media Group said that the gaming industry has seen consistent growth in the last few years due to the advent of 3G and mobile gaming devices. The penetration of smartphones as portable entertainment devices has further catapulted the gaming industry. All the gaming applications have been designed by the in-house team of 9X Media. ‘Talking Buddies’ and ‘Talking Silly’ are the first talking app games launched in India with 9XM’s most popular characters ‘Bade & Chote’ and ‘Silly Chicken’.
Infosys launches digital marketing platform, BrandEdge

The platform has been launched in association with WPP and will be available in a subscription-based, pay-per-use model. Global consulting, outsourcing and technology firm Infosys and WPP have launched a cloud-based digital marketing platform, Infosys BrandEdge, in partnership with Fabric, a WPP company. This first-of-its-kind cloud-based offering aims to simplify digital marketing by bringing together integrated marketing and technology expertise on a single unified platform. With the digital marketing ecosystem becoming complex and fragmented given the nature of campaigns that are executed today, BrandEdge will attempt to provide a single, flexible solution for large-scale organisations to simplify this complexity across multiple geographies and languages, working with multiple agencies and targeting consumers across channels. Powered by an underlying Blue framework, the platform comprises four modules that enable marketers to efficiently build digital assets, effectively listen to and understand target segments and easily engage consumers across a wide array of digital channels. Offered in the cloud, the platform is available in a subscription-based, pay-per-use model and will enable marketers to convert their capital expenditure into variable operational expenditure, while embracing the latest advances in technology and marketing.
Fatboy Slim India Tour wows Gurgaon and Bengaluru

India's history of iconic performances in the electronic music genre received another boost as Norman Cook, a.k.a Fatboy Slim, embarked on his maiden tour in India and wowed the audiences at Huda Grounds in Gurgaon and EZONE Club in Bengaluru on May 5 and 6, respectively. 6th Dimension Entertainment, in association with Elements Inc., presented the epic weekend that was the Fatboy Slim India Tour. The tour was supported by Submerge and 3rd Rock Entertainment, while the sponsors included Kingfisher Livewire, Gitanjali Morellato Time, VH1 and MTV. Celebrated as one of the world's most celebrated and legendary dance music record producers, and the official World Cup DJ, with the MTV Awards and Brit Awards to his credit, Fatboy Slim drove his fans into a hysterical frenzy of dancing and screaming to songs like Weapon of Choice, Praise You, The Rockafeller Skank, Right Here Right Now and Champion Sound. His performance was highlighted with 3D laser lighting, psychedelic visual effects, moving lights, onstage fireworks and prestige sound. The tour also featured performances, visual simulations and digital interactions featuring some of the best musicians from India and around the globe. The Gurgaon leg, hosted by Nikhil Chinapa, saw power packed curtain raiser events by Arjun Vagale and Dualist Inquiry, while the Bengaluru edition, hosted by Rohit Barker, featured DJ Ivan and Brute Force. The concerts were followed after parties hosted by DJ Mash and Nucleya in Gurgaon, and Rohit Barker, DJ Pearl and Nikhil Chinapa in Bengaluru. UK sports radio station talkSPORT announces plans to launch in Asia

UK based sport radio station talkSPORT, has today announced plans for its expansion into Asia. The radio station plans to launch its new 24 hour sports FM radio services in India, along with other key markets including Jakarta, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand initially followed by Philippines, with further services becoming available in markets in China. talksSPORT’s Director of strategy Jimmy Buckland announced at Radio Asia 2012 in Jakarta, that the team aims to work collaboratively with Asia's radio broadcasters to deliver the brand to sports fanatics across the continent. The announcement follows station’s recent agreement to become the official Global Audio Partner of the Barclays Premier League for the next four football seasons (2012/13 - 2015/16). The deal grants the radio station audio rights outside Europe for the next four seasons, with internet users across Asia gaining access to an innovative new service from August 2012, offering commentary on all 380 Barclays Premier League games in English, Spanish and Mandarin.
MTV to break world record for 'Most Live Concerts'

MTV and Viacom Music Group’s event O Music Awards is back in its third year, with an aim to break the Guinness World Record for ‘Most Live Concerts’ in 24 hours. The awards show will stage a road trip from Memphis across eight cities to New Orleans. Live cameras will follow the nominated band from the tour bus to the stage as they attempt to break the Guinness World Record. The record currently belongs to rapper Jay-Z. Fans can nominate their favourite band to participate in the tour, the winning band and list of nominees and performers will be revealed on 23 May. The show will launch on 27 June. Last year, rapper Chiddy Bang broke two Guinness World Records after rapping for 9 hours, 16 minutes at the Awards. Bang bagged the record for longest freestyle rap and longest marathon rapping. Past winners include Björk (Digital Genius Award), Kanye West (Best Tweet), Nirvana (Best Vintage Viral Video), Spotify (Most Addictive Social Music Service) and Way Out West (Most Innovative Festival).
CS Direkt executes Ten Sports Distribution Meet in Kuala Lumpur

In order to recognise and reward the employees and dealers who have achieved their sales figures and motivate the attendees for the year ahead, Ten Sports organised the Ten Sports Distribution Meet with the theme, Ten on Ten. Executed by CS Direkt, the meet took place from May 5 to 8 at Hotel Shangri La in Kuala Lumpur. The event was hosted by Sonali Gupta. According to the brief, CS Direkt had to take the dealers and employees to an international location and create a memorable experience of fun and entertainment, while the conference had to serve as a platform to reward and recognise performers, update the attendees about the business and future goals, and increase their motivation, pride and passion for what they do. The Meet, thus comprising of a conference and gala dinner, coupled with awards and entertainment, was attended by 120 people. CS Direkt was responsible for conceptualizing the event, the theme and the logo, the stage setup and designs, venue branding and decor, team building activities, amplification of the theme in various places, entertainment and overall execution of the event. The event theme, Ten on Ten, was meant to symbolize the perfection for which Ten Sports should strive.

It was used to highlight the three attributes or differentiators of Ten Sports - Faster, Higher, Stronger. Experiences and messages were created to exemplify this theme. When the delegates arrived at the hotel, they were specially welcomed and given specially designed branded collateral such as Ten Sports branded T shirts. The conference began with the AV launch of the theme, which heralded the entrance of the CEO, whose speech covered the three facets of the theme. The CEO was then followed by the Distribution Head .For the awards portion of the evening, which was interspersed with entertainment acts, the top awardees were escorted onstage by cheerleaders. The night rounded out with a DJ performance, followed by drinks and dinner. The agency declined to comment on the vendors and service providers for the meet.
12th Osian’s-Cinefan Film Festival to take place in July

Osian's on May 23 announced that the 12th Osian's-Cinefan Film Festival will take place from July 27 to Aug. 5. The venue for the film festival will be the Siri Fort Complex and the new Kila Complex, which includes the forthcoming Osianama - Art & Film Museum and Blue Frog, New Delhi.Dedicated to bringing the finest films from India, Asia and the Arab world, the 12th edition of the Osian's-Cinefan Festival will showcase an exciting and bold program of over 200 films from more than 50 countries, representing the best of Asian, Arab and Indian Cinema.The conceptual framework of ‘Freedom of Creative Thought & Expression' is the focus of this year's festival. Since its inception, the festival has been organized in collaboration with the Government of NCT of Delhi. Along with competition sections, first features, animation and short films will also be given special platforms.Cinefan's new 7.4 section on films dedicated to the themes of environmental issues will be a precursor of a summit on Natural and Man-made Heritage, which by 2013 will translate into a new film festival dedicated to this subject. With this new focus on environment, Osian's-Cinefan announced that in its 12th year, it has chosen the turtle as its future symbol for the festival.On ‘World Turtle Day' (May 23) Osian's salutes all the organizations and individuals across the globe that are so valiantly fighting to preserve the turtle population and many other rare species against all kinds of attacks. The environmental focus will also be taken forward by commissioning a new Osian's - Cinefan Award Trophy crafted out of terracotta by eminent artist K. Laxma Goud.
Encompass executes media launch of Volkswagen Polo R Cup 2012

Encompass managed the press conference to launch the car for the Volkswagen (VW) Polo R Cup 2012 on May 17 at the ITC Maurya in Delhi. Encompass was chosen to execute the conference based on their set design and launch presentation.The occasion also saw the announcement of the 20 drivers for this season. The event was attended by around 100 people, consisting of Press invitees and Volkswagen delegates.The Volkswagen Polo R Cup made its debut in 2010 and has since been a very successful series for Indian racing. This is the third edition of the VW Polo R Cup. This event serves as a stepping stone for young, talented Indians into the world of professional motor racing. Volkswagen Motorsport India and JK tyres Racing conducted driver selection camps across India beginning in April, with the Coimbatore racing track seeing the selection of the 20 drivers for the 2012 season.The car was unveiled to the audience by Dr. John Chacko, Volkswagen Group Chief Representative India, President and Managing Director, Volkswagen India Pvt. Ltd., with Prithviraj Siddapa, Head of Volkswagen Motorsport India. The launch sequence was dramatized using racetrack lights and the sound of an engine revving up, followed by the rotation of the semi-circular backdrop to reveal the car.The day after the press conference saw members of the media participating in a test drive session at the Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida. This session was attended by 50 people. Encompass was responsible for the logistics of the event and the branding at the venue.Commenting on the event, Sneha Kalbag, Sr. Manager - Client Servicing, Encompass said: "This is the second year in a row that Encompass has executed the media launch for the VW Polo R Cup.
