Said Mr. Shailendra Singh, Joint Managing Director, Percept Limited, "One night over dinner in Pune, during the shooting of Dhol, Priyan narrated the story of Kanchivaram briefly. He told me it was about a father-daughter relationship. In the south, women wear kanjeevaram saree on two occasions - marriage and death. In the film, Prakash's character who has spun thousands of kanjeevarams in his life can't afford to buy his daughter even one during both times. I immediately decided to produce the film."

The Big Laugh Festival, organised by PDM, saw Papa CJ, Sugar Sammy and Aron Kader vying for their share of Mumbai mirth. Going by biographies on their respective websites, they've all got a good shot at tickling our reportedly hard-to-find funny bones. More than the humour, what makes stand-up comedyexciting at least in the hands of a perceptive comic is the point of view being aired. Comics are sardonic observers with the luxury (or guts) to sit on the fence and take notes while the rest of us go about our business. The show witnessed a great audience turnout across the 3 metros of Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore, and had the audiences asking for more!
