The ‘World Gaming Festival’ concludes its inaugural edition in Goa with flying colors
The World Gaming Festival (WGF) held its inaugural edition aboard the ‘Casino Royale’ in Goa from September 23 – 26, 2011. Percept Ltd & Delta Corp Ltd jointly own the Intellectual Property -WG. Over 300 contestants across India competed for the big prize money at stake. The Casino Royale, Goa – India’s largest LIVE gaming casino vessel hosted all five tournaments viz. American Roulette, Texas Hold’e Poker, Indian Flush, Baccarat and BlackJack.
The country’s top 300 gamers were brought onto one platform to compete for the prize money which was up for grabs. India’s best gamers were putting their skills, strategy and expertise to use to out-smart each other and claim glory. Of the 25 winners, the first place winners across the 5 games took home cheques ranging from INR 37 lakhs – 51 lakhs. The overall prize pool was the largest in India. Winners originated from Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Pune, Kolkata, Goa & Kathmandu.

WGF witnessed an array of entertainment activities being rolled out at regular intervals ranging from Can Can dancers, an eclectic mix of international artists and Indian performers. A Jazz band, award winning Violinists and Saxophonists, Spanish dance performances, Live Commentators, champagne hostesses, internationally renowned bubble acts and some of the latest innovative entertainment performances livened up the entire experience.
DJ Shaan Rocks @ A2MIC BUTTERFLY
September 17, 2011 witnessed yet another evening like no other on a classic Yacht, at Temple Pier in London. This event was held in support of "Peace One Day" – an evening of high tech music organized to raise awareness of Global Truce. DJ Shaan who performed an opening set for the headliner of the evening, played an infectious happy mix of tech house. He mesmerized the packed house in London with his groovy tunes and left them awestruck for two hours.
Said Shaan, "I was totally thrilled and excited when I was invited to perform an opening set. I gathered more energy from the crowd who were so enthusiastic. I cherished playing in London, and it was definitely an experience of a lifetime."
Shaan has been DJing since last year and has performed in various venues in Mumbai and Goa. He enjoys experimenting with various genres of Electronic Music and ensures that the crowd has a good time towards the end of it. This is his second international event since his debut last year. His favorite DJ being Axwell, Shaan says that he draws his inspiration from the sets and the music played by Axwell and other DJs. Shaan believes that it is the personality of the DJ that ultimately determines what kind of music he or she plays.
Percept Brain Mania gets Perceptites Quizzical
The 3rd edition of the 'Percept Brain Mania', a quiz contest organized by Corporate HR kick-started in Mumbai on September 9, 2011 at the Training Room atop the P2 terrace. This year witnessed an overwhelming 16 teams participating across the Percept Group.
The contest that continued for 7 days included 4 rounds - 3 Preliminary Rounds and The Grand Finale. The winners of the 3 Preliminary rounds were qualified to participate in the the Grand Finale that took place on Friday, September 16, 2011. The team comprising Paresh Vasa, Kanan Mehta and Shital Shah from Percept Limited emerged victorious. The P9 Integrated team represented by Lajja Reshamwala, Jatin Kanal and Meenal Vyas won the Runners Up prize!
