Leaving no doubts as to why Sunburn Goa is Asia’s #1 Music Festival, Day 2 saw the fans flocking back to Vagator to Live.Love.Dance all over again.
“We don’t want to miss a single minute,” says a Sunburner from Germany. “We’ve come all the way for Sunburn and it’s been completely mind-blowing. Over and above our expectations. We love Sunburn!”
While the 7 stages came to life one by one, showcasing the best DJ talent from across the world, fans took time out to experience anything they may have missed on Day 1. Spray painting a message on the graffiti wall, tying a ribbon on the wish tree, taking a photo next to the larger than life Sunburn lettering, football tournaments, body painting. . . enough to keep anyone busy for 3 full days. Local food stalls are serving everything from chicken shawarma to Burmese to gourmet ice cream with pudina and rose petals.
“I’ve been to Sunburn Goa for 3 years now,” said a Sunburner from Delhi, “But this year is something else. It’s just. . . . massive! I’m so happy that there is a festival like this, right here in India. This is my festival!”
Day 2 lineup saw some of the most talented artists from India, and abroad. Self-taught superstar DJ from Mumbai, DJ Clement opened the mainstage - Dance Temple, followed by Lost Stories and Arnej, while Tapan Raj banged it in on the Space Station stage. But it was Sunburn’s resident DJ, SHAAN, that pulled a massive crowd to the Cubezoid stage for his sunset set. With customized 3D mapping from Darkroom, UK, and enhanced pyrotechnics, SHAAN celebrated his 4th year as a Sunburn DJ with a 3 hour set!
One fan, claiming to be SHAAN’s biggest fan says, “In 5 years, I have never missed SHAAN’s set at Sunburn. His music is uplifting and makes me fell very happy inside. It’s never been better than this year. Sunburn rocks!”
Showing some unbelievable skills on the turntables, James Zabiela wowed the crowd with his Tech-House mastering on the Space Station Stage. The most highly anticipated set of the night, Quintino did not disappoint, closing out the Cubezoid. “He killed it,” said one fan who never stopped dancing.
But the majority of fans lined up all the way to the Sunburn lettering, filling every spot possible, to hear Markus Shulz. Showing the crowd why he has been in the DJ Mag Top 10 for four consecutive years, Shulz banged in his world famous remixes. The most loved trance master of all time stunned the Sunburn Goa crowd.
If you haven’t yet made it to Sunburn Goa 2013, you are definitely missing the biggest show on the planet. You have one more day to be a part of history in the making. Come for the Vagator landscape. Come for the music. Come for Axwell. Come for the fans. Come for Day 3.
